I don't exactly know if Kontrol runs scripts in the "controller driver black box" so. So maybe it's normal Scarbee behavior but I can't say as I'm discovering it. I also noted that if we use the mutes A#-1 control key plugin still reacts against its default velocity behavior for notes textures (harmonics till 15 then mutes till 40 and normal till 127), only bypassing notes with 40+ velocities. I also tryed with the different Jay-Bass vst's Instruments (normal, slap, both.) I tryed this in my DAW but also in standalone Kontrol app with same issue so I guess this shouldn't be a daw settings matter. or maybe press the reset B-1 control key, thing I didn't try and explore fully for test.

I've also noticed that if we change the (right) Kontrol S Mod wheel value once, then we keep stuck with the associated effect whatever value we change it after so this is maybe linked (we have to reload the instrument to reset it. the control list is long and I don't know wich one is the good one neither how these control events are interpreted by scarbee vst) but slides (I anderstand virtual bass player positions/used strings and controls for manipulating it but that's not my problem) I saw things about sustain pedal (I don't have) but seems not related to slap/finger (and I don't know how exactly to simulate by Reaper software. Default Kontrol mapping seems to be in that position but hard to check the real value. I watched Scarbee user manual and FAQ ( ) and the only thing I saw that could explain is Mod-wheel must be set to 127 value.
It seems like the default velocity scarbee script (or kontrol one) for determining note texture overwrites the requested control. In the performance vst window If I press Slap control Key I see Slap mode detected but (that I release it or not) then when I press a note key I see/hear no difference between Slapped or Fingered note. etc.įor now I only have trouble with Scarbee Jay-Bass where it seems I can't switch between Finger/Slap modes with controls keys (C5/D5 if I remember well).
